Connection

  • With central heating boiler: the heating system must be connected to the boiler using a plastic manifold with pump unit. This includes a thermo/manometer, adjustable flow meters, and an energy-efficient A-Label Grundfos Alpha2 pump.
  • With district heating/central block heating: the heating system must be connected to the district heating system using a plastic manifold with pump unit and non-return valve. This includes a thermo/manometer, adjustable flow meters, and an energy-efficient A-Label Grundfos Alpha2 pump.
  • With heat pump LTH (Low Temperature Heating primary source <40°C): the heating system must be connected to the heat pump using a plastic manifold without pump (open plastic manifold). This is double-walled to reduce condensation during cooling.

The SpeeTube heating pipes Ø10 and Ø12mm are connected to the manifold using PushFit connectors.

  • PushFit connectors come in 3 types: single, double (splitter), and repair connectors. The connection fittings are ¾″ eurocone.
  • With the PushFit splitter, two pipe circuits can be connected to one manifold outlet. The lengths of these two circuits must be equal.
  • Pipe diameter for supply and return lines from the boiler or district heating system:
    • manifolds up to 7 circuits: minimum Ø15mm, connection ½″
    • manifolds with 8 circuits or more: minimum Ø20mm, connection ¾″
  • Pipe diameter for supply and return lines from the heat pump or LTH: consult and follow the advice of your heat pump supplier.
Note: WARP Systems does not connect the system to the primary heat source. This must be done by a certified plumber.

Control and regulation technology

What is control and regulation technology for underfloor heating?
A control and regulation system ensures that each zone’s temperature is automatically maintained. The system drives the underfloor heating efficiently through, thermostats, a control centre (CC) and actuators on the manifold.

Which components make up WARP Systems’ zone control system?

What is the difference between the wired and wireless control?
With a wired system, the thermostats are connected to the Control Centre via cables. With a wireless system, the thermostats communicate via a Zigbee signal.

Can I combine the system with radiators?
Yes. You can connect a radiator thermostat to your radiator (requires an M30 thermostatic valve connection; adapters available separately). For more information, please contact our sales team.

Can I add extra zones to the system later?
Yes. Both the H64 and H128 systems are modular and can be expanded with additional thermostats and actuators, provided the underfloor heating is set up to support them.

Is it possible to control multiple manifolds with one system?
Yes. Depending on the system, multiple Control Centres can be linked together (in a master/slave cascade), with each manifold serving its own zone group(s).

New build
Both control systems (wired and wireless) can be used in a new-build home.

Existing construction
The most suitable system for existing homes is our H128 wireless system. No wiring is required except from the primary heat source to the first Control Centre.

Are the thermostats compatible with other brands?
The thermostats work only with the H64 or H128 Control Centre.

Can I control the system remotely?
Yes. By downloading the Heatlink app you can operate the system via your smartphone or tablet.

Can I set the schedule per zone in the app?
Yes. You can configure a separate weekly schedule for each room (zone) via the app.

Does the system work without internet?
Yes. The local control (room thermostats) continues to function offline. App control, however, requires the Gateway to be connected to the internet.

Can I set the temperature individually for each room?
Yes. The system supports zonal control by room. Any room equipped with a thermostat is managed as its own zone, even if you still have radiators in some spaces. You simply install a radiator thermostat on the radiator’s valve. Circulation areas are also heated via the piping that transports heat to the various zones.

How quickly does the system respond to temperature changes?
The actual temperature is measured continuously. When a deviation from the set temperature is detected, the actuators are automatically driven. They have a delayed reaction time of between 2 and 5 minutes.

Can I install the system myself?
Yes. Both the wired and wireless variants are designed for DIY installation.

How do I mount the actuators?
Screw the actuators directly onto the manifold’s return valves (standard M30×1.5). Then connect their pre-wired cables to the Control Centre. If you mount more than two actuators per zone, group them using terminal blocks and connect them with a two-core wire to the zone inputs on the control centre. Note: You can install up to five actuators per zone input and a maximum of 64 actuators on one control centre.

What is the difference between NC (Normally Closed) and NO (Normally Open) actuators?
NC actuators are closed by default and open when signaled. NO actuators work the opposite way. WARP Systems supplies NC actuators as standard, so if power fails, the underfloor heating stops to protect the system.

What is the maximum load of the control centre?
The control centre can drive multiple actuators per zone within the specified power range (see technical manual).

How is the control and regulation system powered?
The Control Centre and Gateway are powered by mains electricity. The wireless thermostats operate on two AA batteries.

What power supply is required for the Gateway?
The Gateway uses the supplied 5V USB adapter, which must be connected to mains power.

How long do the batteries last in a wireless thermostat?
Batteries typically last 1–2 years, depending on brand, usage and ambient temperature.

My thermostat won’t connect. What can I do?
Check the batteries (for wireless thermostats), ensure the thermostat is within range of the Control Centre and verify that the correct pairing procedure was followed.

The app shows an error message. How do I fix it?
Close the app completely and restart it, check your Wi-Fi connection and restart the Gateway if necessary. Refer to the manual for specific error codes.

The heating stays on even though the thermostat is off. What now?
Verify that the actuator is installed correctly and is functioning. Ensure each zone is assigned properly. Finally, check whether the thermostat wire to the primary heat source is connected to the NC port instead of the NO port (or vice versa), depending on the required configuration. Consult your installer or plumber for guidance.
