Project summary
This private homeowner installed the SpeeTherm15 dry construction system in their living room, finishing it with laminate flooring.
In what type of home did you install your heating system?
A detached house.
How many people are in your household?
Four.
How did you come across WARP Systems?
Through word of mouth.
Why did you choose a low-temperature hydronic heating and cooling system?
To create a sustainable home and prepare for a heat pump.
Do you think sustainability is important? Why or why not?
We all need to contribute to a healthy planet and future, so every little bit helps.
Do you have specific sustainability goals for the future?
Yes, many: solar power, a heat pump, insulation from top to bottom, rainwater reuse for garden irrigation, toilet flushing and the washing machine, a white roof, an electric car, an organic plant-based diet, etc.
What convinced you to choose self-installation?
The fact that it seemed so easy to do yourself and the cost savings—every little bit helps.
How did you experience the installation overall?
It was delivered neatly with a layout plan and instructions, so it was very easy and fun to install myself. You also take more pride when you do it yourself and it works.
Which aspects were easier than expected?
Everything went very smoothly, even when we had to change the layout because of an unexpected floor hatch. It was very simple to mark a new route with string, even with the additional bends.
Which aspects required extra effort?
It was difficult to figure out how to connect WARP to a smart system like Tado. We couldn’t find any information from WARP, even though it’s an extra sustainability measure. Tado also seemed quite complicated, but with help from a good plumber, we made it work. A missed opportunity for a sustainability-focused, innovative company like WARP Systems.
Did you use the installation tools and instruction videos? If so, how helpful were they?
Yes, both the manuals and the videos were very helpful to get started. After that, it was just a matter of laying the pipe.
