Project summary

This private homeowner installed 33m² of SpeeTile10 in their living room, finishing it with a PVC floor.

In what type of home did you install your heating system?
A single-family home built in 1988.

How many people are in your household?
Two.

How did you come across WARP Systems?
While preparing our home renovation, I saw ads on VT Wonen’s “Verliefd op je Huis” and didn’t think it was for us. Later I heard a radio ad and realized it would be a great solution for us.

Why did you choose a low-temperature hydronic heating and cooling system?
Mainly because we could easily install it ourselves over the existing tiles and old underfloor heating (which wasn’t performing). It saved us a lot of demolition work and cost.

Do you think sustainability is important? Why or why not?
If a system is sustainable, that’s always a bonus. But I’m not always looking for the most sustainable option by default.

Do you have specific sustainability goals for the future?
Not at the moment.

What convinced you to choose self-installation?
We visited and spoke with Marloes, who gave a clear, friendly explanation. That convinced us we could do it ourselves, especially with help from my very handy father.

How did you experience the installation overall?
The system is really easy to lay. Everything worked just as smoothly as you promoted, there was no exaggeration. We did puzzle over how to neatly hide everything around the manifold, and having a crawl space in the way didn’t help.

Which aspects were easier than expected?
Pouring the levelling mortar. After a bit of trial and error, with four people lifting and pouring and one person spreading, it went in super quickly and that was lucky, because it was hot outside and dried extremely fast. It couldn’t have gone slower.

Which aspects required extra effort?
Laying the pipes, because we had to figure out our own approach and we also had a crawl-space hatch right where the manifold is, so it wasn’t so simple.

Did you use the installation tools and instruction videos? If so, how helpful were they?
The pipe cutter was excellent. I watched some videos, but my father mostly relied on the paper manual and he found that very helpful.
