Project summary

In this beautiful home we installed a total of 133m² of SpeeTile10. The SpeeTile10 system has a build-up height from 15mm and is finished with our SpeeTop levelling mortar.

In what type of home did you install your heating system?
A mid-terraced house. The heating covers almost the entire ground floor.

How many people are in your household?
Four.

How did you come across WARP Systems?
A colleague recommended it and I cycle past WARP Systems every day on my way to work.

Why did you choose a low-temperature hydronic heating and cooling system?
We had a convector trench which works well, but still had cold feet in winter. The trench also collects dirt and dust and is hard to keep clean. We believe low-temperature heating is the future, so we wanted to get the renovation right.

Do you think sustainability is important? Why or why not?
I think sustainability is quite important. When we tackle a project we keep it in mind. Fossil fuels will run out and we have to think of the environment. That said, the word “sustainable” is sometimes overused as a marketing hype.

Do you have specific sustainability goals for the future?
One day we will install a heat pump or perhaps a hydrogen boiler.

What convinced you to choose self-install?
Me personally, and a colleague installed it himself and found it manageable.

How did you experience the installation overall?
Easy and fun.

Which aspects were easier than expected?
Laying the mats on the floor is really straightforward.

Which aspects required extra effort?
Mounting the open manifolds turned out to work in three different ways. Since our pump unit arrived later we only realised then that the manifolds were not hung in the most practical position. Luckily I could still adjust them. I also found it awkward that the supply manifold bracket is not directly above the return manifold bracket, even though the manifolds themselves must align vertically. The brackets press against the flow meters and blue caps.

Did you use the installation tools and instruction videos? If so, how helpful were they?
Both. The videos on YouTube are also very clear.
