In what type of home did you install your heating system?
A maisonette house.

How many people are in your household?
Two.

How did you come across WARP Systems?
Through my contractor and indirectly via Brouwer on Bellamystraat in Amsterdam.

Why did you choose a low-temperature hydronic heating and cooling system?
The house dates from 1895 and we value sustainability. We removed all radiators and fully switched to underfloor heating. We also planned the pipe lengths for a heat pump (max 50 m per circuit) so that when we have the budget we can invest in a heat pump.

Do you think sustainability is important? Why or why not?
Yes, sustainability is definitely important. Not only to save on our energy bill in these strange times but also to make a positive contribution to the environment. We plan to install solar panels with the downstairs neighbours (HOA).

Do you have specific sustainability goals for the future?
Yes, we want to invest in a heat pump and solar panels. During the renovation we already replaced all single-glazed windows with HR+++ glazing.

What convinced you to choose self-installation?
Our budget is limited but we wanted to make a sustainability leap. We chose WARP for the low build-up height and the ability to install over wooden floors. After watching the YouTube videos we were convinced and decided to install it ourselves.

How did you experience the installation overall?
The installation was manageable and the instructions we received made each step clear. We split the work over two weekends, completing one floor per weekend. We found the second weekend much faster and easier because we tackled one large area instead of four small rooms.

Which aspects were easier than expected?
We thought laying the pattern would be harder than it actually was. With the layout plan we received the pipes went in quickly.

Which aspects required extra effort?
With an 8-circuit manifold and 15 circuits to connect, it was a puzzle to route the 30 pipes (15 supply and 15 return) neatly on the top floor. The other floor was much easier.

Did you use the installation tools and instruction videos? If so, how helpful were they?
The videos were very helpful. Before we began we watched them several times to understand the exact steps and where to focus our time and energy. During the installation we referred to the videos multiple times, especially for filling and adjusting the manifold and pump. Fortunately we had help each weekend from a brother and a friend. Before they arrived we showed them the videos so they knew exactly what to do.
