Project summary
This private customer self-installed 33m² of their SpeeTile10 system. WARP Systems was hired to pour the system with SpeeTop levelling mortar.
In what type of home did you install your heating system?
A corner house from 1962, purchased in 2021. It underwent a complete renovation with insulation, using underfloor heating as the sole heating solution on the ground floor.

Through radio advertising and online research into affordable, easy-to-install systems.
Why did you choose a low-temperature hydronic heating and cooling system?
It’s ideal in combination with a heat pump. After the renovation I didn’t want unsightly radiators in view. I use a heat pump from DeWarmte, and your supplied manifolds made the connection seamless.
Do you think sustainability is important? Why or why not?
Yes, it was priority number one during the entire renovation. I wanted to be able to heat completely without gas as soon as possible, powered by solar panels, so I could even disconnect from the gas grid.
Do you have specific sustainability goals for the future?
We will install an external insulated facade and a large home battery to store solar energy.
What convinced you to choose self-installation?
My own confidence and the high cost of full installation by competitors, which was far too expensive.
How did you experience the installation overall?
With proper preparation and sequence, it’s an incredibly pleasant system to install. Customer service is excellent; you’re guided by clear, friendly communication throughout the sale. It makes it a reassuring and satisfying DIY project. I never felt stressed, and whenever we made a mistake or got stuck, we just contacted customer service.
Which aspects were easier than expected?
Laying the SpeeTile mats and the pipes was very simple. Although the first few meander runs felt awkward, you quickly gain that skill. Tip: lay the pipes after they’ve been in the sun. They become much more flexible and easier to shape.
Which aspects required extra effort?
Careful planning of where the holes should go. Laying the meander pattern was tricky at first because the drawings were very small and hard to read. Everything else was super clearly explained and documented.
Did you use the installation tools and instruction videos? If so, how helpful were they?
The pipe reel was indispensable! I watched the videos several times beforehand, but the process basically speaks for itself if you’re handy. Using the SpeeTight spray to secure the mats saved a tremendous amount of time and mess and was super easy.
